L’Ira del Baccano – Si Non Sedes Is - Live MMVII

Tutto inizia da qui. La trasformazione alchemica si attua nel corso di due concerti tenutisi nel 2007 a Genzano. E’ qui che i Loosin ‘o’ Frequencies diventano una band strumentale, e immortalano il momento in una registrazione che solo oggi, a più di 10 anni di distanza, assume forma fisica. Ed è proprio con questa registrazione tra le mani, nel 2008, che la band decide di cambiare il proprio nome in L’Ira del Baccano e di rendere la sua musica disponibile a tutti, nella forma liquida di mp3 pubblicati online. Da allora la registrazione di quei concerti si è solidificata nella coscienza di molti appassionati dell’underground, contribuendo a rendere L’Ira del Baccano come uno dei nomi più interessanti in sede live. L’ultima, indispensabile, trasformazione, ci consente di inserire nella nostra discografia, a fianco dei due album in studio, una copia fisica di questo preziosissimo documento, a tutti gli effetti il primo parto della band romana. Attraversiamo la porta alchemica (Si non sedes is è un’epigrafe incisa su tale monumento nascosto nel cuore di Roma) per renderci conto di quanto la band fosse già allora matura per concepire ciò che è venuto dopo. Ovvero una dilatazione e deformazione dei suoni pesanti, a tratti doom e sabbathiani, in ampie e ariose suite progressive dalla struttura fluida e cangiante, ai limiti dello space rock (echi di Coma Divine e Space Ritual al di là della porta). Trasmutazione di piombo in oro, attraverso jam libere e scorrevoli. Musica svincolata da limitazioni di genere che assorbe passato e presente, trasformandoli in un futuro assolutamente personale. Processo alchemico perfettamente riuscito.

It all starts here. The alchemical transformation takes place during two concerts in 2007 in Genzano. It is here that Loosin 'o' Frequencies become an instrumental band and capture this moment in a recording that only today, more than 10 years later, takes on physical form. And it is with this recording in its hands, in 2008, that the band decides to change its name in L'Ira del Baccano and to make its music available to everyone, in the liquid form of mp3 published online. Since then the recording of those concerts has solidified in the conscience of many fans of the underground, contributing to make L'Ira del Baccano one of the most interesting names as live act. The last, indispensable, transformation, allows us to insert in our discography, alongside the two studio albums, a physical copy of this precious document, to all effects the first brainchild of the Roman band. We cross the alchemical gate (Si non sedes is is an epigraph engraved on this monument hidden in the heart of Rome) to realize how much the band was already then mature to conceive what came later. That is a dilatation and deformation of heavy sounds, sometimes doom and sabbath influenced, in vast airy progressive suites with a fluid and iridescent structure, on the borders of space rock (echoes of Coma Divine and Space Ritual beyond the door). Transmutation of lead into gold, through free flowing jams. Music freed from genres limitations, able to absorb past and present, transforming them into an absolutely personal future. Perfectly successful alchemical process.
