Un libro inesistente. Se ne conosce solo il titolo. Gli unici che l’hanno letto sono i Kotiomkin che decidono di raccontarcelo attraverso i loro strumenti: basso e synth per Enzo P. Zeder, batteria per Gianni Narcisi. Come si intuisce già dalla bella copertina del disco (opera di Popoki) che pare la locandina di un B-movie anni '70, quello dei Kotiomkin è un racconto cinematografico che ricostruisce le atmosfere di una storia che è già cult prima ancora di esser stata scritta. L’albicocco al curaro, infatti, è il libro giallo che il ragionier Fantozzi deve consegnare alla contessina Serbelloni Mazzanti Vien dal Mare alla stazione, e che lo costringe ad inseguire il treno mentre cerca il nome del colpevole tra le pagine. Il disco del duo si nutre con gusto dei frutti del cinema di serie B anni '70, mischiando con fantasia i generi. C’è tanta commedia sexy boccaccesca nel funk ballabile di Fatal Commestio o nei lascivi e succosi suoni del basso di Sexy Averno, che paiono sgocciolare lussuria. Ma c’è soprattutto molto veleno nella musica di chi non ha paura ad avventurarsi nelle lande tenebrose dell’Aldilà, soprattutto con il suono sinistro del synth. Alcuni schemi ritmici lasciano in bocca il sapore del rock progressivo anni '70 (e di nuovo torna la fascinazione per l’Italia del passato), ma il tutto è amalgamato con sensibilità contemporanea, talvolta anche con distorsioni e pulsazioni che paiono provenire dal pianeta Morkobot. La colonna sonora di un racconto solo immaginato dal ragionier Fantozzi poteva avere una colonna sonora più cult di questa? Impossibile.

A nonexistent book. Only its title is known. The only ones who read it are Kotiomkin who decide to tell it through their instruments: bass and synth for Enzo P. Zeder, drums for Gianni Narcisi. As you can already guess from the beautiful cover of the album (Popoki's work) which looks like the poster of a 70s B-movie, that of Kotiomkin is a cinematographic tale that reconstructs the atmosphere of a story that is already cult even before it has been written. Indeed, L'albicocco al curaro is the crime novel that accountant Fantozzi must deliver to the countess Serbelloni Mazzanti Vien dal Mare at the railway station, and that forces him to chase the train while looking for the name of the criminal in the pages. The album of this duo feeds with taste the fruits of 70s B-movies, mixing with fantasy the different genres. There is a lot of licentious sexy comedy in the danceable funk of Fatal Commestio or in the lascivious juicy sounds of the bass in Sexy Averno, which seems to drip lust. But above all there is a lot of poison in the music of those who are not afraid to venture into the dark lands of the Beyond, especially with the sinister sound of the synth. Some rhythmic patterns leave the taste of 70s progressive rock (and again it returns the fascination for Italy of the past), but everything is amalgamated with contemporary sensibility, sometimes even with distortions and pulsations that seem to come from planet Morkobot. The soundtrack of a story only imagined by accountant Fantozzi could have a more cult soundtrack than this? Impossible.
