Ufomammut + Black Rainbows - Rural Rock Days - Day 2 - Cascina Bellaria Rural Music Club! (Sezzadio, AL)

Gli amici si vedono nel momento del bisogno. E dopo il forfait degli ASG a pochi giorni dall'evento, il Rural Rock Days ha bisogno di una mano amica. A porgerla sono gli Ufomammut, che da questa terra provengono e che in questa scena sono cresciuti. Insieme a loro, ad affrontare la tempesta prevista, un'altra band nostrana: i Black Rainbows. Le pessime previsioni meteo hanno scoraggiato gran parte dei potenziali partecipanti alla serata, ma il palco coperto della Cascina Bellaria (ancor più protettivo di quello della sera precedente) offre riparo ad un pubblico che, per quanto non molto numeroso, si dimostra estremamente caloroso. 

Lo stoner iperfuzzoso e adrenalinico dei Black Rainbows contribuisce all'atmosfera festaiola della serata. Con un concerto ricco di groove e di energia, con ampio spazio dedicato alle digressioni spaziali/psichedeliche, i romani esaltano e confermano quanto siano ingiustamente sottovalutati da gran parte del pubblico rock italiano (non certo da chi era presente stasera!).

Se c'è una band che negli anni è riuscita giustamente a raccogliere quanto seminato, quella si chiama Ufomammut. E anche stasera, dopo 20 anni di carriera, ormai universalmente riconosciuta come una delle più importanti in ambito heavy psych, la band di Tortona mette tutta se stessa anche di fronte a pochi amici. Per certi versi l'impatto emotivo di un concerto così intimo è ancora più intenso di quello generato su un grande palco, magari diviso con band del calibro di Yob e Neurosis. Alla fine della tempesta sonica generata dal trio, rimaniamo esterrefatti da quanto una musica che pare provenire da un altro universo, possa suonare così calda, umana, viva.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. And after ASG rip-off just a few days before the event, Rural Rock Days needs a helping hand. To offer it are Ufomammut, who come from this land and who grew up in this scene. Together with them, to face the expected storm, another Italian band: Black Rainbows. The bad weather forecasts have discouraged most of tonight's potential attendees, but Cascina Bellaria covered stage (even more protective than the one of the previous evening) offers shelter to an audience that, although not very numerous, proves to be extremely warm and passionate.

Black Rainbows iperfuzzy adrenaline-filled stoner contributes to tonight's party atmosphere. With a set full of groove and energy, with ample space/psychedelic digressions, the Romans exalt and confirm how unjustly they are underestimated by much of the Italian rock audience (certainly not by those who were present tonight!).

If there is a band that over the years has rightly managed to reap what it has sown, that is called Ufomammut. And even tonight, after a 20-year career, finally universally recognized as one of the most important in the heavy psych scene, the band from Tortona puts its heart and soul in this gig in front of a few friends. In some ways the emotional impact of such an intimate concert is even more intense than that generated on a huge stage, possibly shared with bands such Yob and Neurosis. At the end of the sonic storm generated by the trio, we are stunned by how much this music that seems to come from another universe, can sound warm, human, alive.
