Perfect marriage between sepulchral doom metal heaviness and fascinating violin and piano melodies, Turn Loose the Swans is visceral thanks to death metal origins of the band. It’s an extreme and difficult opus to absorb, but its intensity and drama are also the weapons that make it unique. Stainthorpe voice alternates growling laments with recited moans, and the result is a theatrical interpretation of desolation, a misty sonic flow that, together with Paradise Lost and Anathema ones, will define a new style in gothic music.
