Il minuscolo e intimo ambiente del Ganz of Bicchio è il luogo ideale per gustarsi un piatto a base di rock psichedelico, condito da muri di suono, tanto giganteschi quanto avvolgenti, come quelli cucinati dai The Black Delta Movement.

Prima di loro, l’antipasto è preparato dai lucchesi Il Reparto Psichiatrico. La giovanissima band ci presenta un succulento mix di pop psichedelico anni 60 e cantautorato. Il Syd Barrett nostrano (voce e chitarra) inanella filastrocche acide portandoci in un mondo fantastico simile ai sogni di Alice nel paese delle meraviglie. Una tastiera misurata - ma adeguatamente allucinogena - condisce il tutto, impreziosendo una musica molto melodica e orecchiabile, ma non per questo non affascinante.

Gli inglesi The Black Delta Movement colpiscono le papille gustative con sapori decisamente più forti e decisi. Come una sorta di peperoncino piccantissimo, una valanga di distorsione fa immediatamente perdere le coordinate spazio temporali. E serve il groove e la potenza del batterista (essenziale e poderoso alla Dave Grohl, ma anche ipercinetico alla Keith Moon) per mantenerci ben saldi alla realtà. Il loro trucco “da chef stellati” nasce dalla combinazione di due ingredienti apparentemente antitetici come la melodia e il rumore, e prende ispirazione tanto da blasonati maestri come i Velvet Underground e i Doors, quanto dalla neo-psichedelia e (soprattutto!) dai Black Angels. Cibo che regala energia per muscoli, mente e sogni. Caldamente consigliati, e non solo assaggiando le loro registrazioni in studio, bensì facendo scorpacciata della loro musica in versione live!

The tiny cosy Ganz of Bicchio is the ideal venue to enjoy a psychedelic rock dish flavoured with as gigantic as wrapping walls of sounds, like those ones cooked by The Black Delta Movement.

Before them, the appetizer is served by Il Reparto Psichiatrico, from Lucca. The very young band offers us a succulent mix of 60s psychedelic pop and singer/songwriting rock. The “Syd Barrett” of the band (voice and guitar) releases acid rhymes bringing us into a fantastic world similar to the dreams of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderlands. A well balanced - yet properly hallucinogenic - keyboard spices the songs, enriching a very melodic and catchy music, but not for that not fascinating.

The British The Black Delta Movement strike the gustative papillas with much stronger and more determined flavors. Like a sort of extremely hot pepper, an avalanche of distortion makes you lose space-time coordinates. And you really need the groove and power of the drummer (essential and powerful à la Dave Grohl, but also hypercinetic à la Keith Moon) to keep our feet on the ground. Their “starred chefs” trick comes out from the combination of two seemingly antithetical ingredients such as melody and noise, and it is inspired both by their renowned masters such as The Velvet Underground and The Doors and by neo-psychedelia and (especially!) The Black Angels. Food that gives energy to muscles, mind and dreams. Strongly recommended, and not only tasting their studio recordings, yet making a big feed of their live show!
